TROYKA - Bristol based trio playing an original fast fusion of Balkan gypsy and Eastern European tunes with a flavour of Western Gypsy Swing. Our instruments are: harmonica, acoustic guitar, clarinet and darbuka - making our sound unique and guaranteed to get you to your dancing feet!
DJ Haninka - the mistress of the finest Czech tunes in town makes her debut on the decks tonight! Expect to hear the spectacular sounds of Neocekany dychanek amongst her collection.
DJ Penny Metal gets to indulge her love of all things Russian and eastern European - music, alcohol, graphics and big hats. It is the official home of Mad Tunes - anything from obscure tarantellas, polkas, ridiculous Romanian fiddle tunes, Russian chorals and Greek syrtakis aplenty. All polished off with a heavy dose of Russian schlager, surf and Ukrainian wedding tunes. Like any good Russian tune the night starts off slow(ish) and ends up really fast with cossack high kicks and somersaults and a healthy dose of vodka. All this to a background of Soviet posters and Russian cartoons!
